This lapis lazuli bowl measures 20 cm across and 7.5 cm deep, in royal and cobalt blue with golden pyrite flecks and white calcite veining.
The bowl is built from lapis tiles set in a radial pattern around a round center medallion. Concentric rings of tiles run out to a smooth rolled rim. Each tile differs in shade, so some read deep navy and others lighter blue. The pyrite catches light when you turn the bowl. The finish is polished and glossy. Lapis is traditionally associated with wisdom, truth and inner peace, and some people keep a bowl like this on a desk or altar for meditation. It can also hold small items such as rings, candy or a bar of soap.
