An Afghan Mamluk area rug in 240 x 171 cm size, with an olive green field, red border, navy, teal, gold, cream, and small orange and brown details. The pattern is dense and bordered, with a low pile look and white fringe on the short ends.
This is a handmade, hand-knotted rug made in Afghanistan with vegetable dyes. The layout is multi-medallion, with smaller motifs around a larger center. The green reads darker in some areas, and the border is more red and navy than the field. We design this rug, and our production partner handcrafts it in Afghanistan.
All photos are taken in natural sunlight.
