This is a high-quality, double-knotted 50/50 piece, tightly woven with soft, premium wool.Hand-knotted wool Bokhara rug from Afghanistan, 350 × 256 cm (11'6" × 8'5" ft). The field is deep red with repeating dark purple guls and small ivory marks. It has the ordered Turkmen layout you expect from a Bokhara, with a dense pile and a compact feel under hand.
This size works under a queen bed, under a dining table, or in a larger hallway where you want coverage with some weight. The knots are tighter than normal, and the wool is finer than standard sheep wool. Bokhara rugs are always hand-knotted in wool — never tufted, never synthetic. The dyes here read as a brick-red range with dark blue accents in the borders, and there is slight color shift from the natural dye bath. Wool also softens and takes on more shine with use, so the surface will change over time.
