Wool textile art from Afghanistan, this hand-knotted Volayati rug measures 321 x 249 cm and reads as a warm beige field with burgundy border and navy motif work. The wool has a low pile and a matte finish. Woven in the Ghazni region of Afghanistan. Takes approximately 6 months per area-sized piece.
The field has small natural dye shifts in the beige, so the center does not look flat or printed. The border is darker than the field, with cream fringe at the ends. This piece has a tight foundation and a dense feel under hand. It sits well in a large room or under a table.
