9x12 Wool Rug 300 x 200 cm Afghan Volayati area rug with an ivory field, dark red, navy, rust, olive, and muted gold. Hand-knotted in Afghanistan. The pattern is dense and geometric, with a traditional medallion repeat and a multicolor border. The fringe is light gray.
This is a Volayati rug from the Ghazni area. Geometric medallion designs here are bolder and simpler than Khamyab, and these are everyday rugs with a sturdy pile and neutral palette. Small asymmetries in the pattern are part of the weaving, not defects. The wool feels dense under hand and should soften with use. It works on a floor, under a desk, or in a hall space.
