Afghan Volayati area rug 305 x 205 cm. Woven in the Ghazni region of Afghanistan. Merino wool on a wool foundation. The field is warm gold with teal, navy, burgundy, cream, and black. The center medallion is tight and geometric. Borders carry smaller medallions and star motifs.
This is natural, untreated wool with no dye added after weaving. The pattern looks good on a wall, under a desk, by a sofa, or in a studio. Small asymmetry in the design is normal on a hand-knotted rug. Spot clean with wool-safe shampoo. Use a professional wash for deep cleaning.
