Boho wool rug 204 x 153 cm (6'8" x 5'0" ft) from Afghanistan. Double-knotted 50/50 handmade soft Volayati rug in deep red with dark navy accents, black outlining, and muted ivory fringe. The field has a dense allover geometric motif and a strong bordered edge.
This rug is woven in the Ghazni region of Afghanistan and takes approximately 6 months per area-sized piece. The wool pile feels dense under hand. There is small natural color variation in the red, which fits plant and mineral dye behavior. Lapis is traditionally associated with wisdom, truth, and inner peace, and is believed to support meditation use as an altar stone or quiet focus item, but this listing is for the rug itself.
