This is a Volayati piece, so the layout is geometric medallion designs — bolder and simpler than Khamyab. The field is packed with repeating motifs, and the borders carry smaller rosette bands. From Herat and the Ghazni area tradition, this kind of rug usually passes through 10-12 hands from shearing to finished rug. Area-sized weaving can take 8-14 months. The wool here looks tighter than normal, with crisp edges and a denser pile than you'd expect at this size. Lapis is traditionally associated with wisdom, truth, and inner peace, and is believed to support throat and third eye focus when used on an altar or in meditation.
