Double knotted 50/50 neutral high quality soft and durable Wool Rug 204 x 150 cm from Afghanistan. Hand-knotted Volayati with an ivory ground, brown and taupe medallions, and a dark border. The pattern reads cleanly at a distance and tighter up close.
Woven in the Ghazni region of Afghanistan. This style uses geometric medallion designs — bolder and simpler than Khamyab. The wool foundation helps reinforce the base, and the knotting is denser than a typical rug in this size band. An area-sized rug like this usually takes 8-14 months of continuous weaving. The field has slight natural color variation, especially in the darker motifs.
