Double-knotted high-quality 50/50 Afghan Volayati area rug 300 x 200 cm. Hand-knotted in Afghanistan, woven in the Ghazni region using a fine quality silk-like soft wool. Light blue field, navy border, terracotta accents, ivory and rust floral details. Dense pile. Fringed edge. New condition.
This is a working rug, not a light one. Wool keeps some of its natural oils, so it resists light moisture better than cotton. Vacuum it on a low setting. Spot clean with mild shampoo and water. The weave is tighter than a standard piece of this size, and the wool is hand-spun Merino grade. Takes approximately 6 months per area-sized piece. It should soften with use and keep color well over time.
