Double-knotted high-quality 50/50 Volayati silk-like soft wool and durable rug 300 x 200 cm from Afghanistan at Mamluk design. Hand-knotted Volayati with a slate gray and charcoal ground, navy outlines, ivory accents, pale blue details, and small gold touches. The pile is low and dense. The fringe is finished. It reads as a sturdy floor piece, not a loose weave.
Woven in the Ghazni region of Afghanistan with a tighter knot count than a typical piece in this style. The wool is fine and firm, and the weave feels denser under hand. Small pattern shifts are normal here. The wool is naturally moisture-repellent and spot-cleans easily. It works under a desk, in a study, or on a shelf wall if you are using it as decor. The wool becomes softer with use.
