This piece is called a "Mamluk" rug, originated from Afghanistan. Mamluk rug are meant to showcase very classic 1800s designed Turkish and Persian rug. Mamluk rugs in general always try to focus the rug around medallions in the middle, or scattered throughout the rug. Handmade Mamluk-inspired designs are highly sought after today and many feature the signature intersecting compartments surrounding bold medallions.
Very durable and meant to last for a lifetime without losing it's quality. Excellent for high usage areas. 100% wool with an additional wool foundation at the root.
Very easy to clean: with a vacuum cleaner or a simple shampoo + water for any stains.
